About Perfect Balance Fitness
Perfect Balance Fitness is a holistic health and wellness company, specialising in 1-2-1 sessions in Lower Back Pain Rehabilitation, Sports Massage, Advanced Personal Training, Pilates, Zen Yoga, and also nutritional consultations and advice, either outdoors or in the comfort of your own home.
In addition, we offer Advanced Personal Training, Lower Back Pain Rehabilitation, Pilates, Yoga, Martial Arts, and nutritional consultations and advice online via Skype – so you can train with me wherever you are!
We believe that fitness is not about having big muscles and a six-pack while suffering from joint pain, high blood pressure, or insomnia. It is surprisingly common to see someone who appears very physically fit on the surface, yet constantly suffers from pain and relies on anti-inflammatories and energy drinks behind closed doors.
The embodiment of a healthy life should include not only enhanced physical or sporting performance, but also having a supple and strong body, free of sickness and disease, combined with a stress-free and centred mind.
Our approach is different in that your sessions will include all facets of what we believe equates to a healthy lifestyle and will be specifically tailored to suit your individual needs – monitoring your progress as we go along and constantly discussing with you how we can make the journey as enjoyable as possible. It is easy to lose a large amount of weight in a short period of time, by embarking on modern ‘fad’ diets. But how healthy are these in the long term? We may lose weight, but how does our body actually perform?
No matter what your goal is, we will help you to achieve it. But optimising your health and vitality is always our number one priority.
Although I played sports and trained in martial arts from a young age, I grew up an overweight and unfit child. When I was a teenager, I realised enough was enough and the feeling of being fixated in front of the TV all night whilst stuffing my face with face and drink was taking it’s toll on my body and mindset.
Fast forward a few years and I was training on a regular basis, getting seriously in to martial arts. During this time I sustained a serious injury to both of my shoulders, requiring two open surgeries and years of rehabilitation to get me back to a comfortable place. This led to my fascination with rehabilitating the body through exercise, diet, and also ‘prehab’, a form of preventative exercise.
In 2009 I decided I wanted to continue on my journey of self improvement, not just for myself but also to help others around me going through similar problems with weight, nutrition, or injuries. This became my passion and gave me a new drive for life. I have gained many qualifications since then, including an Advanced Personal Trainer Diploma, a Level 4 Lower Back Pain Specialist City and Guilds Award, Sports Massage Therapist Certification, and a GP Referral Certification which allows me to work with patients referred from the health service with a host of problems and ailments I can help work to reverse and manage.
Since this period I have competed in many sporting events such as Muay Thai Kickboxing, 100km-161km Ultra Marathons, and Obstacle races – placing in the top 10 and even coming first place on occasion, but mainly competing for the pure love and enjoyment of moving my body.
From 2017-2019 I ran a successful medical gym in the north of Japan and taught workshops across the country. This really solidified my desire to help others and work within a more rehabilitative and holistic format.
I have also climbed/hiked countless mountains including over 30 in Japan such as the iconic Mt.Fuji at 3776m.
I feel genuinely satisfied with the results I have achieved with my clients so far, and the positive impact I have had on their lives. It is due to this that my life is dedicated to continuing my own personal development and the development of others, in order to be a catalyst for those who are in need of help to make the changes in their life that they would like to achieve.
